In the fashion world, summer is officially over. This is hard to get our heads around when we keep getting glimpses of fine weather and our summer has been such a washout. But, you’ll find the high street has swept away their summer stock and made way for rich textures, luxe fabrics and long sleeves. Autumn 2015 is here and this season is already getting me excited!
I’ve recently come back from Spain and got a few key pieces from Zara over there. I’m now the proud owner of my first pair of high waisted flares! The weather here is grim so they’ve already been worn with tan heeled boots and a sleeveless polo neck – the 70s look is definitely a favourite for me! I’m throwing on my sleeveless longline jacket as my ‘in-between coat’, it’s a simple solution for this not hot, not cold weather we are having!
There are some great trends being diluted for the high street. Be on the look out for delicate, layered and structured knits, soft tailoring, flowing maxis, a-line skirts, wide legs, boho luxe, 60s chic and beautiful tan, grey, deep purple, red and black shades. Mixing luxurious fabrics is also a big trend this season, so dig out your faux furs, suedes, silks, satins and leathers. Throw your silk pleated skirt on with a chunky knit and you ready to rock!
I’m not usually one to direct to a certain store, but M&S have the autumn season down this year. I’ve already created a Wish List a mile long. They have a great selection of fine knitwear and have really embraced the boho luxe and 60’s trend. I advise you to go and explore and try on things you wouldn’t usually consider.
So here is my inspo for the early autumn season hopefully you can get your hands on a few key pieces now for the season transition, and update your wardrobe ready for this new season.
