I’ve lived in Worcester for a few years but had never been into The Niche on Friar Street, so was totally unaware of its hidden treasures of pre-loved designer-wear! killing time one Saturday afternoon I strolled in and was amazed at the stock they had. The premise is that you take in your pre-loved clothes/ accessories/ shoes in (Mon – Thurs), they value them and then sell them on your behalf. I lost about 30 mins in there marvelling over the coats and jackets and created a massive wishlist. There literally is something for everyone in all sizes!
I promised to go back setting myself the challenge of styling outfits that were on trend for A/W 2014 but at a fraction of the price.
Some of the outfits and accessories I put together are below. Bearing in mind that high end brands such as Mulberry, Joseph, Whistles, Reiss, D&G and DKNY are in stock it was a dream to piece together wearable outfits. Also, The Niche has been in business since 2002 and have a real fan base of women who buy from them but also take their products in to be sold. It results in an Aladdin’s cave of beautiful things! Prices really do vary and it depends on the item and its designer. As a rule I find that a well made, tailored and finished item is worth the investment! You also more 0r less guarantee that not one person will have the same item as you!
Here are the outfits I put together…
Outfit 1 – DKNY leather pencil skirt, Blue Joseph jumper, leather lace-up boots with metal heel detail
Outfit 2 – Karen Millen tweed skirt, chiffon blouse, Dune metallic clutch
Outfit 3 – Grey cardigan, vintage belt, Topshop jeans, French Connection leather jacket
Outfit 4 – Joseph dress
Outift 5 – Whistles top, Topshop jeans (as before)
